Thongs
Avoid the pantyline with a thong
Women are as divided over thongs versus panties as men are over boxers versus briefs. Some women swear that women's thongs are the most comfortable type of underwear in the world, while others can't stand the feeling of a string running up you-know-where. Thongs have increased in popularity in recent years, to the point where feminine hygiene companies are now offer thong-style pads!
Why a Thong?
While some women wear thongs exclusively for the increased comfort they find with this type of underwear, many women find themselves turning to a thong for another reason: to avoid the dreaded pantyline. Clingy dresses and skirts, light-colored pants and generally any bottoms made of a tight, thin fabric can show lines where traditional bikini or brief-style panties end. Women's thong panties are the perfect solution to this embarrassing problem of panty wear. Because there is no fabric on the bum, there are no seams or lines to show through your clothes!
Choosing a Thong
Thongs come in a wide range of styles and colors. For general comfort and hygiene reasons, cotton thong panties are a great everyday choice. To fully minimize the chance of anyone seeing your undergarments, pick a simple, decoration-free thong in a neutral or beige tone. Small, medium, large and plus size thongs are readily available from lingerie stores and online retailers.
If you are looking to spice up your undergarment drawer, or to get a panty to wear with a lingerie top such as a corset or camisole, a lace thong is a very sexy choice. Many lingerie sets come with a matching thong and top. Lingerie thongs may be silk, satin or nylon, and some come with embellishments such as sequins, beads, feathers, ribbons or pompoms. Depending on the amount of decoration, these thongs can also be worn as everyday underwear. It's hard not to smile when you remember that you have on a pretty pink, lace thong, even though no one else can see it!
Finally, when trying on your thong, find out if it will show above your pants when you are sitting or bending down. While some (usually younger) women want to show the world their underpants, inadvertently showing your thong in public is considered a fashion faux-pas.
