Bras
Brassieres to suit many needs
A bra is among the most important parts of a woman's wardrobe. Bras are an evolution of the corset, and most women today would much rather have a sleek wireless from Victoria's Secret than be laced into a corset! Bras provide support and coverage under clothing, and a number of styles are available to suit many different functions.
Bras for Looks
Most women (and men) will agree that a bra can enhance and uplift a woman's natural look. While the primary function of bras is to provide support, many bras today are designed for their appearance. Many women enjoy wearing pretty lace bras, even if no one else can see them! Some bras are sold as part of lingerie sets along with matching panties, and incorporate luxurious fabrics like silk or satin with lace and ribbon accents.
Push-up bras allow any woman to get a fuller look for relatively low cost. By incorporating extra padding underneath the breasts, these bras can give a little extra "oomph" to any outfit. In some cases, different levels of removable padding are provided with push-up bras so that they can be customized to provide the right fit. If you are hoping to wear a bra with a number of different necklines, some newer bras offer a number of strap configurations, including halter, racer back and strapless.
Specialty Bras
Many women look for more than sex appeal in a bra. For most women, especially those with a larger bust, a well-fitting and supportive bra is essential to their wellbeing throughout the day. The comfort bra provides soft, stretchy material and is a good choice for women who find underwire bras too uncomfortable. Many women also have a few sports bras in their drawer to provide adequate support and comfort during physical activity.
One essential type of bra for mothers intending to breastfeed is the nursing bra. These bras feature easy-to-open clasps, zippers or snaps on the front of the bra to provide easy access to the breastfeeding baby. If you are buying a nursing bra, ensure that you can open the closure with one hand, as this will save tons of frustration when trying to hold a baby in one hand and unclip the bra with the other. These bras are available in a range of styles, from sports bra to underwire.
